| The Secretary to the Ministry of Prisons Reforms Dissanayaka announced that Ministry has taken steps to fix security cameras at Welikada prison compound. |
| He also added Rs.10million was allocated to purchase cameras and through this it will be easy to monitor all the activities taking place at the prison compound. Secretary further said they hope to build up new prisons in Jaffna, Tangalle, Akunugolapellasa, Matara and in Petibedara area. |
