Students of Manikfarm face difficulties to prepare for O/L examination due to lack of teachers


Students in the Settikulam Manik farm camp continuously face difficulties to carry out their studies due to lack of teachers UN Human rights reports said.
According to the report only 60 teachers are teaching for 1500 students in Anadakumarasuwami and Kahirkamar areas. Due to this situation students preparing to sit for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination on December 12th is facing difficulties to carry out their studies.
Officers of the Education department pointed out that government hopes to shut down Manik Farm camp as soon as possible due to this they face difficulties to appoint new teachers for the school located in the Manik farm IDP camp.
Officers further said most of the people in the Manikfarm are partly resettled in their respective areas due to this most of the teachers were also moved out from the camps due to this officers face practical problems to provide better facilities towards the manikfarm said the officials.
However students revealed due to lack of teachers they face difficulties to prepare for the general examination.
